Tim is a graduate himself of the much larger International group which was started in 1958 by David Wilkerson. He started the Georgia headquarters in 1997. In his own words, he feels that, "everyone deserves a second chance." This ministry now has a proven track record of retraining former alcoholics, drug addicts, and men who have found their lives in crisis. The campus is currently undergoing a major renovation with a new building that will house more than double the current number of young men.
Listening to a couple of the men speak about their background in service today, I was impressed with the fact that Teen Challenge's proven cure puts people back into the world as self-supporting citizens. Many of these men came of their own choosing, and a few were given a choice in court. All of them realized that they needed training to become free of their addictions. That of course, is only the first step. Much work goes into altering lives, as I am sure we see in our own circumstances. But, I am gratified to see that Tim and Barbara are willing to step forward with their gifts, like the boy with the loaves and fishes. They accomplish so much with relatively little. Be sure you stop by and check out their website. I am sure this may be the answer someone is looking for. I will provide links below the video interview and the choir singing for you to contact them.
It is not always possible that leaders in a ministry are able to see such remarkable changes in the lives of those they help. If you are looking for a ministry to get involved in, this is an excellent opportunity to alter lives for the good. The Great Commission will certainly not be the "Great Omission" for Tim and Barbara. Matthew 28:19,20
