Do you ever feel like you don't have enough of God? Do you wonder if you are riding on autopilot? I've never liked coasting. If I can't climb or fly down-hill, then it's time to rest. When you don't have enough of God, it's time to rest in the word. I love the word. It seems like lately I've been living on rations, due to circumstances beyond my control. Oh, but it's not beyond God's control! God sent fowls of the air to feed Elijah beside the Brook during a famine in Israel.
And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word. And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan. And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there. So he went and did according unto the word of the LORD: for he went and dwelt by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan. And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook. 1 Kings 17:1-6
In the past week, I've gone through a number of sermons. I discovered a set of Nona Freeman's sermons online, (cyberspace means in the air, by the way) a three part set titled, "How Big is Your God?" Nona Freeman is a Woman Preacher who went on to be with the Lord in 2009. She was a missionary to Africa and lived to be 93 years old. You can read a little biographical info on her at the Wikipedia linked to her name. I think the last time I heard her speak in person was 2005 or 2006. I have a couple of her books. Her books can be found on Amazon at this page. The 3 part sermon is in the videos below. I will share them with you without further introduction than to say she is a Spirit-filled Christian believer.
