Why do humans seek out thrill adventures such as skydiving, if we are evolutionarily tuned to survive? Why didn't the thrill-seeking gene die out with the first million catastrophies? If we adapted to survive, then why did the non-adapting forms survive along with us?
These are all very "non-scientific" questions. Science can't answer them, because Science doesn't have the answer key... just the questions. Scientists just need to stick their heads out the window, let their tongue hang out, and enjoy the ride a little more often, that's all.
