The song from David's Psalm I mentioned above speaks of the heartbreak that comes in our life story. But, it doesn't end the same way that Amanda's story has. Instead David crys for help, asking for God's compassion and mercy to fill his days. He prays for God to give him more wisdom to realize that he only had one life. He prays for God to let some good come out of his work, which seemed to be amounting to nothing. He prays for God's beauty to be on him. And, he prays for the Lord to let him know what God's work is to be in his life. This is the hope of the Christian. He is not alone. He can sing to God daily in the face of all opposition and God will hear and deliver.
Amanda had no help. She didn't know where to turn. Now her story has ended. Or, has it?
