I've always been fascinated by this first chapter of Ezekiel, most especially by these Spirit contolled wheels. If you can picture one wheel inside another, at right angles, so that it appears to have four sides, and it can roll in any direction without the neccessity of "turning around," then you can picture the providence of God's Spirit. The wheels were full of eyes, and eyes denote intelligence. In other words, the Spirits of the angelic beings were directed by Divine intelligence. We must be likewise Spirit guided and allow the intelligence of God to guide us wherever we go.
It is easy to spin about on our own, and allow the problems around us to rule our spirits. That's the unguided way, the way of failure. True success is in being guided by intelligence, a higher intelligence than our own. Allowing things around us to determine our feelings is irrational. If you base your life only on what you can see, or feel, you will likely be tossed about by every wind, big or small. Some pilots fly by VFR... visually. They use their eyes to look around outside the cockpit to determine their route. Pilots of larger planes, those especially flying at higher altitudes, must depend on IFR... instrument readings, to determine altitude, direction, acceleration, etc. Obviously, IFR is safer flying than VFR. The pilot's vision is never as clear as the radar information and radio intelligence coming from the tower.
I have managed to stay out of bed most of today, except for a short nap this afternoon, and am connected to my tens unit in the recliner. I expect tomorrow to be much better. When you pray, pray for my comfort. Good night.
