I love the ocean, and everything about it. But, Travis never loved the roar of the surf. On this trip we climbed the 178 steps to the top of the Tybee Lighthouse. It was so high up that I had to wait a few minutes inside the doorway at the top before I could get the courage to step out on the thin railing around the outside of the top, but the view across the ocean was fantastic!
But, the view of my son enjoying the ocean was the most awesome sight of the whole trip. I think family time is probably one of the greatest gifts God gives us. I've always treasured the time I have spent with my sons, and now with my husband on vacations. This is why I always made a point of taking vacations when the boys were young. The zoos, the museums, the circus, the Atlanta Braves, everything and every moment was a collectable moment in my treasure chest of happiness. Just look at the volume of the expression on this silent boy's face. A picture is truly worth a thousand words, especially from a child who was silent for so long.
