Isaiah 26:19-21 Your dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, you that dwell in dust: for your dew is like the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead. Come, my people, enter you into your chambers, and shut your doors about you: hide yourself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation is past. For, behold, the LORD comes out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her bloodshed, and shall no more cover her slain.
This verse has multiple sides, much like a Stealth Bomber plane. It is written to both the dead who lived in Christ, and the living dead in Christ. It comforts those who feel they are in a dry desert place. It also encourages Christians to wait for God to deal with iniquity and bloodshed, when it goes unchallenged. It promises that the hidden slain bodies of innocent children will be found by God, their Creator. But, most importantly it speaks of the resurrection that is to come for all believers. We will live again through Jesus! And, that is a blessed hope! And, how long will the evil last? Only as if it were a moment!
