The fact is, even though our life circumstances are not accidental, we rarely choose them. For the most part, everyone you know was born in a family they didn't choose, in life situations they had no prior choice in, at birth. They didn't choose their own parentage, family income, heritage, race, religion, or national origin. And, they didn't choose their own physical condition at birth. What's more, though they have the ability to manipulate many factors of their own existence, they ultimately have less than total control over those as well.
No, we all play the cards we are given, so to speak. I believe that destiny is the back side of God's plans. If you don't choose to operate within all that God has planned for your life, you end up with the default destiny that your life choices and circumstances create for you. I never like the default settings on anything. I prefer to customize my phone, my computer, my programs, my web pages, and even my browsers. For that matter, I download all the browsers, and use different browsers for different websites. I want the options that give me results by design... not by default. But, like it or not, each program I use makes updates to their websites randomly. I can't control these changes. I have to adjust to them, learn from them, improve my output with them, and ultimately embrace them.
The book of Revelation mentions 5 new things specifically in eternity. Three of those are new places... New Heaven, New Earth, and New Jerusalem. But, the other two are things that we will receive in eternity. We will receive a New Song and a New Name. Revelation 2:17 Revelation 3:12 Revelation 5:9 Revelation 14:3 Revelation 21:1,2,5 Imagine how infinitesimal the changes we go through here in this life are, compared to our new name and song in eternity.
Here we all are, on the edge of 2013; our new reality. Go ahead. Take it! Modify the settings, tweak it until you get something you can live with, and make this year your best life yet!
