And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28
I believe we can easily recognize our trials for what they are. I believe that we have the authority, as Christians and children of God, to look at the devil's handiwork and name it as it is.
Mark 5:7-8 And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with you, Jesus, you Son of the most high God? I adjure you by God, that you torment me not. For he had said unto him, Come out of the man, you unclean spirit.
Notice in the story of the man possessed with the legion of demons, that Jesus recognized the source of the problem immediately and called it an unclean spirit. He then asked for the spirit's name. He wanted to identify the specific cause of the torment the man was facing. Jesus was knowing and recognizing the spirits that came to torment his people.
In much the same way, I believe we can look directly at our sickness and recognize it as temporary, and subject to God. If sickness, death, unemployment, loss, or any other thing comes calling; then look it in the eyes and tell it just as the actor in the movie said, "This is going to prove to be useful." And, "Don't call here again."
