Psalm 62:10-12 Trust not in oppression, and hope not vainly in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them. God has spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongs unto God. Also unto you, O Lord, belongs mercy: for you render to every man according to his work.
We can't even trust in the bad to be bad. We can't hope to gain by stealing. If we get rich, no need to take it to heart, for here today gone tomorrow. David heard it said more than once that power is God's. And mercy is His as well. That's what counts. That is worthy of accumulation. If we must pursue, steal, rob...let us seize hold of mercy. There is something worthy of coveting. Forget the lottery tickets, and gamble on mercy. It's the only sure bet.
